Getting started

Sign up, finish onboarding, provision your Tradee number, and set up call forwarding from your mobile.

  1. 1. Sign up
    Create your account with email and password. You get a 14-day free trial — no credit card required.
  2. 2. Complete onboarding
    Tell Tradee your business name, trade type, and your mobile number. We use this to customise the AI receptionist and send you lead SMSes.
  3. 3. Get your Tradee number
    In the dashboard, click Phone Setup and tap 'Get my Tradee number'. We'll provision an Australian phone number on the spot.
  4. 4. Set up call forwarding
    From your mobile, dial the carrier-specific code (shown on the Phone Setup page) to forward missed calls to your Tradee number. Takes 60 seconds.
  5. 5. Test it
    Call your mobile from a different phone, let it ring out. Tradee will pick up, greet the caller in your business name, and text you the details.

Features

AI Receptionist
Tradee answers every missed call, greets the caller, records their message, and extracts the job details using AI.
When a call forwards to your Tradee number, our system answers in your business name and asks the caller to leave their name, phone, and what they need. The recording is transcribed automatically, then Claude AI extracts structured details — customer name, job description, urgency, preferred date — and creates a booking in your calendar if the caller mentioned a date.
Call forwarding setup
One 30-second code on your phone redirects missed calls to Tradee. Works on Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.
Conditional call forwarding is a built-in feature on every Australian mobile network. You dial a short code (like **61*04XXXXXXXX#) and your phone will automatically forward calls to your Tradee number when you don't answer, when the line is busy, or when you're out of range. Your phone number stays the same — customers never know the difference. To turn it off later, dial ##002#.
Quotes
Build and send quotes to customers via SMS with a built-in rate card for common services.
Set up your rate card once (call-out fees, hourly rates, fixed-price jobs) and Tradee uses it to build quotes. Create a quote from the dashboard, pick items from your rate card or type them in, then hit Send — the customer gets an SMS with the quote number, total, and GST breakdown.
Invoices & online payments
Generate invoices, send them by SMS with a secure payment link, and get paid via card.
Convert quotes to invoices or create them from scratch. When you send an invoice, the customer gets an SMS with a link to a payment page. They can pay instantly with card via Stripe. When they pay, the invoice is automatically marked paid, and you can see the payment in your dashboard.
Bookings & calendar
Your calendar view shows every booked job. AI creates bookings automatically from voice calls when dates are mentioned.
Every booking lives in your calendar with customer name, phone, address, and job details. Bookings can be created manually from a deal or automatically from an AI-answered call when the caller specifies a preferred date.

Every call Tradee answers creates a deal in the 'Lead' column. Move deals through Qualified → Quoted → Won/Lost. Filter by source (inbound call, website, referral) to see where your best work comes from.
Customer memory
Tradee remembers every customer — contact details, job history, and notes — so you never start from zero.
When a customer calls back, the AI receptionist looks them up by phone number and knows their name, address, and past jobs. Customer profiles track total jobs, total spent, tags (VIP, regular, slow-payer), and AI-learned facts from previous calls.
Public booking page
Your own booking URL. Customers see your services and prices, then book online 24/7.
Every business gets a public page at /book/your-business-slug. Customers see your rate card, reviews, and a form to request a booking. Bookings land in your dashboard for you to confirm.
Outbound marketing
Launch SMS campaigns to win back old customers, push seasonal offers, or chase unpaid quotes.
Pick a campaign template (Win-back, Seasonal, Review Request, Maintenance Reminder, Referral, Follow-up), edit the message, paste in phone numbers, and launch. Tradee sends each SMS via Twilio and tracks delivery.
Google review automation
Auto-text happy customers asking for a Google review — more reviews means more leads.
After a job, go to the customer's profile and tap 'Request Review'. Tradee sends a personalised SMS thanking them and asking for a review.
Smart pricing insights
See how your prices compare to your area and which services have the highest acceptance rates.
Tradee tracks every quote you send and whether it's accepted or rejected. The Insights page shows your acceptance rate by service, how your prices compare to area benchmarks, and recommendations for adjustments.
AI settings
Customise what Tradee says when it answers, what questions it asks, and how it follows up.
Edit prompts for 5 scenarios: inbound greeting, qualification questions, quoting, follow-up, and review requests. Each trade has sensible defaults that you can override.
Voice cloning (Boss plan)
Clone your own voice so customers hear you, not a robot. Available on the Boss plan.
Upload a 30-60 second recording of yourself reading our sample script. Tradee clones your voice and uses it for every AI-answered call. Customers will swear it's really you.
Overflow network
Fully booked? Refer jobs to nearby tradies in the Tradee network and earn 10% referral fees.
Mark yourself as open to overflow in Network settings. When you can't take a job, refer it to the network — other tradies in your area see it and can accept. Both sides win.
Billing & plans
Three plans — Starter ($49), Tradie ($99), Boss ($199). Cancel anytime.
During your 14-day free trial you have full access. When the trial ends, pick a plan on the Billing page. Manage your subscription (upgrade, downgrade, cancel, update card) via the Stripe customer portal.

FAQ

Do customers know they're talking to AI?
Tradee greets them in your business name and takes a voicemail-style message. It's honest about asking for their name, phone, and what they need. Most customers just think they got a polite answering service.
What if the customer doesn't say a date?
Tradee still captures the lead and creates a deal in your pipeline. No booking is auto-created, but you get all the details by SMS in seconds.
Can I use my existing phone number?
Yes — you keep your number. Call forwarding on your mobile redirects missed calls to your Tradee number. Customers never see the Tradee number.
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
You can't access the dashboard without subscribing. All your data is kept safe — just pick a plan on the Billing page and you're back in.
How many calls can Tradee handle?
Each plan includes a monthly call allowance — 50 (Starter), 200 (Tradie), or 500 (Boss). Unused calls don't roll over. If you hit your limit, extra calls go to a simple 'call back later' message until next month.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from the Billing page — you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Does Tradee work outside Australia?
Right now, we only support Australian phone numbers and carriers. International support is on the roadmap.
